WHITE WIZZARD Putting Finishing Touches On New Album
September 16, 2009Los Angeles traditional metal heroes WHITE WIZZARD are putting the finishing touches on the as-yet-untitled full-length follow-up to the "High Speed GTO" mini-album with producer Ralph Patlan (MEGADETH, UFO, MICHAEL SCHENKER). According to WHITE WIZZARD bassist Jon Leon, the new CD will contain "10 songs that will rip your head off. The screaming demon (singer, Wyatt Anderson) just finished his vocal tracks and he did an amazing job."
He added, "We are taking a week off and then next week we will go to mix.
"We will be mixing the record at legendary Prairie Sun Recording in Northern California.
"I cannot wait until this record is released, expecting to have it out in early 2010 and then we will tour like mad. We are all excited for next year."
Early versions of two songs that are expected to appear on WHITE WIZZARD's 2010 album — "40 Deuces" and "Over The Top" — are available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.
WHITE WIZZARD formed in 2007 and shortly afterwards recorded its "High Speed GTO" demo, which only made it into the hands of a few select fans. Following a brief period of inactivity, the demo fell into the hands of Earache Records and the "High Speed GTO" song was included on "Heavy Metal Killers", a compilation featuring 13 tracks from the best new traditional-sounding heavy metal bands. Earache Records released the "High Speed GTO" tracks as a mini-album this summer.
"High Speed GTO", the debut music video from WHITE WIZZARD, can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Dave Vorhes for Airborne Pancake Productions.
